Help! £300 to spend

I've got £300 to spend on an amp, top of my list is the Pioneer VSX 917, but I am also considering the Sony STRDA1200ES and the new Onkyo TXSR505E. I want to get something that is going to be good for music and home cinema, I also need 2nd room capability. Can anyone help?

Unfortunately my other amp died a couple of weeks ago, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, in that case I'd consider the Onkyo TX-SR505 (£250), but as Clare said we're about to test a whole new bunch of stuff, including a couple of the new Denon models in your price bracket. The Onkyo's great, but we still have to test it against its price peers.
