Hi there,

If you're looking for an afforable pair of in-ear headphones I would definitely recommend the Acorn Audio E1s. They're made from real wood and look great in my opinion. I've been using them for a few months now and am really pleased I got them. Compared to other earphones I've had (Apple ones, Klipsche S4i, Skull Candy) they offer much richer bass and a better overall sound. Check them out at acornaudio.co.uk.

what about over-ear headphone? any suggestion?

Musical Fidelity MF-100 or Audio-Technica ATH-M50 would both be a significant upgrade and will work well with all genres.

I assume because you mention over-ear that you want comfort, but do you also want to wear them outside? What's your budget, do you need isolation and do you know what signature you're looking for (lean / neutral / bassy)?

If people throw a single recommendation at you without knowing any of those things I'd be woried it's all they've heard or they're trying to sell it to you (not talking about Dale btw).

I've heard quite a few Quadpatch, and I would never recommend anything that wasn't very good. Many of the folks on here have known me many years and know that I like my hifi.

The M50 is a good headphone, especially so for the price. I hope to get the MF-100 at some point - they can't be bad, but they cost more than the M50.

Another option would be the SoundMAGIC P30 (or the new P30S smartphone edition)? I bought a P30 for commuting a couple of months back and have been very impressed by these portable cans.

Over ear circumaural headphones, no sound from outside headphone and no sound come out from headphones (noise isolated) , budget : US$100-150. Sound quality should be able to fit all genres of music well.

Audio technica ath-m50 vs sol republic tracks, which one is better?

What about sennheiser and akg? Any recommendation?
