Hi everybody! I'm looking to purchase some Grado SR60 headphones (or something similar) to go with my expanding set-up. The only problem is, I'm not quite sure if they would work on my amplifier as I did not know that headphone impedence had to be taken into consideration...and I have no idea what impedence the amplifier headphone socket is! If anybody could shed a little light on the subject it would be thoroughly appreciated! All the best, Hughes.

Aside from estorics such as electrostatics there are pretty much no headphones that can't be driven from an amplifier headphone socket. That said, lower impedance headphones are easier to drive and will therefore generally sound better without a dedicated headphone amp.

The Grados are low impedance cans and in fact very easy to drive, so you will have no problem whatsoever.
