Anybody tell me what the advantage is of useing a seperate headphone amp is as opposed to useing the socket on the front a good amp? or are they just for amps with no socket?

Thanks Mark

Because on the whole, the headphone socket on your average amp isn't up to much if you;re serious about headphone listening. A generalisation, but you get the idea.

most are used by plugging them into the line out (usually a tape/record). as i only use mine for CD listening (Project Head box 2) i plug it into the second line out from my Tag Mclaren cd20r.

Just reread the question the headphone amp has a headphone socket on the front

Generalising (since they're not all the same), you take a feed from the tape out or pre outs of your main amp (or direct from the source) and plug your headphones into it.

See what u mean now so u would still be useing the normal male to female sockets on headphones and headphone amp?

Do they make a noticable difference ?and how do u turn the main speakers off ? do thay have there own volume?

thanks again
