My wife has just bought me the Denon S-102 DVD/CD system. However the system has only HDMI connection and my flat screen LCD TV has only Scart sockets.

The system upscales ordinary DVD but does this work with an HDMI to Scart cable or do i need a new TV!!?

Also does anyone know of a good quality HDMI to Scart cable?

Regards,

Marc

The S-102, if it's a European model, has RGB Scart, S-video, composite and component video outputs, while I think models sold elsewhere in the world have all of these apart from the Scart.

In your case, your best bet is to use the Scart output with that TV. You won't get the upscaling, but if offers the best connection. With only a Scart input on your TV, you're not going to get the upscaling of the Denon to work.

You can definitely get the cables. I have seen them on the net and in shops. No problem to find.

Thank you for your reply.

Its obviously a non european model as no scart sockets are installed but has an HDMI socket instead.

I will have to put up with standard DVD for now until such times i can afford the TV to go with it!!

Is there not an otion for component RGB?? I can't imagine that the flat panel doesn't have one.
