Has WHF reviewd it previous policy of claiming differences in picture qulaity for HDMI cables ? I don't recall any reviews recently for an eleventy quid cable promising more saturated colours nad tighter bass (he he)

Just sprang to mind as I needed to get a 10M HDMI recently to demo a TV I was selling. I got a new one off ebay for £6.75 - yes 10M, a bargain ! And do you know what ? It worked perfectly !

10metre! Don't you want anyone to take a closer look?

Lol, I meant the TV was a distance from the Sky box - it was easier to get the cable than move the TV !

Someone quickly change the subject. Can't be arsed with another cable debate. Sad news about hmv. :shifty:

So, given the thread was 9 days old and had dropped off the active topics list what did you hope to achieve by reactivating it with your reply?

Next time a learned magazine of our mutual acquaintance tests any kind of cable, could they please include a "yank test' to see how durable the end connectors are and how they stand up to abuse?

I've had to bin quite a few HDMI cables recently after re-jigging the system meant a round of disconnect and reconnect cycles and the HDMI cables in partiuclar seem prone to failure at the connectors (over-bending of the individual conductors I suspect), especially behind my flat-panel, panel-mouted TV.

IMHO it's no flipping good having a mega-bucks cable, let alone ever-lasting debates about the 3D imagery, shades of black, .... zzzz..... WAKE UP!!! oh yeah, if the things are doomed to failure by lousy end fittings.

Just my 2 cents as the locals say around here.
