HDMI Switcher recommendation?

Hi,

I've got a TV with 2 HDMI sockets, and 2 HDMI-enabled devices currently plugged in. I'm now thinking of getting a PS3, so won't have enough sockets to plug everything in at once. As a result, I'm looking at buying an HDMI switcher. But does anyone have any recommendations for what to go for?

I cannot give you a product comparison but I have a 2 into 1 automatic HDMI switcher from Keene Electronics and it has performed faultlessly in every respect since I got it. Also Keene have the best Customer Service you could ever wish for. Give them a try.

Thanks for the pointer. Unfortunately I can't see anything on there that claims 1.3 support. May not be able to take advantage right now, but would prefer it to be there.

No-one else has any suggestions?

I use the Oppo HM-31 and it's been excellent for me and it looks nice. It has 3 inputs and 1 out. I bought mine from CRT Projectors for around £68

Looks quite reasonable, thanks. Only 3 inputs, but i guess i can't think of more than 4 devices right now anyway.

Been googling around a bit, and seen some switchers from a company called Octava. Don't suppose anyone has any experience with these?

Ok, i think I'm going to go with this actually. It looks nice, has a serial port for if i decide i'd like to play, and i can't see more than 4 devices needed for now anyway. And even if i do, i can always get another switcher for the 2nd tv input :)

Has anyone any recommendations for a switcher the other way round (1 HDMI - 2 sources)?

I will be looking at getting one at the end of the year, so it's not going to be a quick decision. I've asked on here before, but it seems to be a touchy subject. Is this because of things like Sky HD and the HDCP compliance?

Hmm, does look nice, yes. However, OUCH!!! £171 as opposed to £68 for the Oppo

I was looking around for a while for a good switcher at a decent price. I've got an Oppo dvd player and was impressed with that and the switcher has been great. There's obviously better ones out there but not at the Oppo's price point, I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you opt for it.

Saying that it may be made redundant if the new Onkyo 606 AV receiver is as good as the specs suggest when it's released. :S

Heh. I think what I'll do is get the Oppo now, and then when the 606 comes out grab one of those, assuming it does end up being as good as the 605. The 606 is far enough in the future that I can justify doing this :)
