HDMI from Humax PVR9300T

Can anyone explain why there are faint hatched vertical lines appearing on the screen of a Panasonic HD ready LCD when connected via HDMI to a Humax PVR9300T?
All other sources display a perfect picture (SCART and coax). The lines appear at both 720 and 576 resolution and the HDMI cable used is the one supplied with the Humax box.
