HDMI connections to HDTV

Hi All,

Just a quick question. Will I loose any picture quality connecting my Blue-ray DVD player to my AVR via HDMI (and then from AVR to TV) or direct to the TV with optical connection to the AMP? I understand that if I use optical to the AMP I will not benefit from all the HD sound formats.

as most amp provide a pass through option no you will not lose any quality.
