Currently have an AT33PTGII and a RigB AT-VM540ML but fancy adding another cart to my line-up.

I have the possibility of buying a lightly used Hana ML but read a comment of a previous owner who said he sold it on as it wasn't the best fit for rock (and bought a Dynavector instead).

As rock in all its guises is 90% of my listening, I am very curious to hear from other owners - or people who listened to the Hana.

Thanks.

My Hana ML is great across the board as I have a very varied music taste. If you can get a decent one for a good price, go for it, I'd say. They are excellent carts.
Thanks. Well unfortunately for me, the guy decided to upgrade tonearm and give the cart another chance instead of just upgrading to the Umami Blue.

On balance, probably better to save money towards a 1210G - and then get a ML for that...

Any component can play rock , opera or even test tones
Rock music get a 1200GR/1300G

Hahah yeah I get that, although not every component will do with the same level of proficiency or with the most appropriate presentation. For example, my current amp.(Rega Elex-R) does it with more gusto and drive than my previous one (Marantz PM7200) did.

I will definitely demo the 1300G - the fact that it's cheaper and not DJ-looking are massive pluses, but it's also said to sound "darker" than its bigger sibling. Without descending into the argument of coloration /distortion etc , the type of rock I listen to would probably benefit from a less dark presentation. I am more interested in drive, "PrAT" and engagement than warmth.
