got a plastic cover to go over the needle, any point in using this?

Hi guys, i got a little cap with my project 3 that protects the end of the catridge, was this just for packing reasons or should i be putting it on after every sesh?

Well. it'll keep dust off the stylus, and also protect it should the turntable get knocked and the arm dislodged from its rest. So I'd say yes, put it on whenever you're not using the turntable.

Chhers, i always have the lid on when not in use so cudnt work out if it was nessicery to put the lil thing on, im a newb to TT so wasnt sure if thhis was a must.

I can't see the point of putting it on, there's not going to be much dust with the lid on. Unless you Mr Bean your not really going knock the TT. No other TT's suggest putting a cover on the stylus

Not sure what your point is - many cartridges have been supplied with one of these stylus guards.

Mrs Bean may clobber it though. Or while delicately dusting his pride and joy Mr Beans sleeve catches the cantilever.
