Hi folks

I'm considering buying a bluetooth pair of speakers (NuForce S3-BT) for a bedroom setup, and plan on streaming music direct via bluetooth from google play from my smartphone. A couple of questions, is the file type that play music uses compatible with these speakers? and if so.... can it take advantage of the apt-x / AAC connectivity that these speakers offer? I've heard that streaming over bluetooth is a bit naff if these file types aren't used.

Cheers

You need aptX on your phone to stream using aptX. What phone do you have?

Anything your phone can play can be streamed via Bluetooth, file format not an issue.

Thanks for your response, I have a galaxy s3. I'm hoping it's up to date enough to support this format? Would I need to choose apt-x in the phone settings, or would it choose this as a default method?

Mike

The GS3 does support the apt-x codec so it should be automatic when connected to an apt-x device.
