Get my old Marantz CD6000KI repaired or buy a new Marantz CD6003

Hi, Lately my old Marantz CD6000Ki, which I like a lot is refusing to play an increasing amount of CD's. (Oddly it never has a problem with CD-r's) Now I can probably get the player fixed, but what about the CD6003? I am not looking for a better sound per se, but I certainly do not want inferior sound quality. So what do you think? Should I get my cd player fixed or just get a new CD6003? Thanks in advance!

Clean the laser, if you know what you are doing you can take the top off and clean the laser lens with some alchol, isopropyl is udeal though Gin does the job on a clean cotton handkerchief - no tonic and lemon mind ;-)

I already did this, the player always has been kinda picky with certain cd's but after a few tries it normally would play the discs...well not any longer.
