Hi I want to do something complicated: is this possible?

My tv has decent build in audio, but I would like to add some rear speaker channels to the tv.

I looked at hdmi switchers and bluray players with multiple channel analog outputs. However my tv doesnt support analog stereo inputs (for the front audio) together with a hdmi video signal, so a bluray player with multichannel analog outputs doesnt seem to work.

There do exist hdmi audio extractors, but they are only able to extract and output the front channels through their analog outputs.

Basically I need a device that will passthrough the videosignal + front audio through the hdmi cable, and output the rear channels through two analog outputs. Does this exist?

i woud like to avoid having to add a soundbar or front speakers

Not quite sure what you are asking but wouldn't it be simpler to add an amp, i'm sure you could pick one up for a couple of hundred quid.

No, I'm not sure that such a device exists, certainly I've never heard of one!

Even if you can find such a device, a further complication in your case is that you want your rear speakers to be active. Do you already possess the active rear speakers?
