French plug on T.V.

I recently bought a Sony kdl26v4500 through the pixmania website. When it arrived it had a french plug instead of a british 3 pin one, however, an adapter was supplied. Would this adversely affect picture quality, is it possible to attach a british plug, or would the whole cable have to be removed?

Any advice would be very gratefully received!

Can you not just get another IEC Kettle type lead with british 3 pin to plug into it? Widely available and pretty cheap.

I'd cut the plug off and replace it with a standard British type, unless the cable is detachable, in which case I'd switch it for an appropriate replacement.
