Freesat Sound

What sound method will Freesat be delivering. The Humax box looks as though it is stereo only, no digital O/P?

Might it be worth having a dedicated Forum section for Freesat?

Depends on the standard or HD boxes, AFAIK.

The Humax Freesat HD box - reviewed here - certainly allows for Dolby Digital surround sound via optical digital output.

A range of BBC HD content is broadcast in Dolby Digital 5.1, and i'd hope ITV HD will offer the same....

No sooner said than done - I've included Sky and Virgin in the same section, as this seems to be the choice people are making.

Thank you Clair for your reply, I didn't spot the Optical O/P on the back of the Humax.

Is the O/P from these Freesat Boxes MPEG2 or 4, so if you buy one now you wont have to change later like

all the owners of Freeview Boxes will have to do when HD becomes available?
