format for SQ on ipod

Whats the best format to copy music onto my ipod to get the best sound quality. Been told either WAV or apple lossless???

WAV doesn't allow tagging and is the audio file stored bit-for-bit (i.e. big file sizes). Lossless compression stores exactly the same information but allows tagging and saves space. I store my library in Apple Lossless.

Storing metadata about the file like artist, title, album etc - WAV can't store that data in the file itself, other file formates (inc Apple Lossless) can.

And yes, apple lossless is the way to go.

Thought it might be now i've already started copyin my cd collection to my laptop using WAV

They can all be converted to apple lossless by iTunes - right click/convert to apple lossless.

Im after a gd dock for the ipod and was cosidering either the 'BOSE sound dock portable' at 300 or the 'B&W zeppelin" at 400. I've heard the Bose in action and to be honest it sounded better than my setup at home.

Is there much difference in sound quality between the Bose and the B&W for the extra 100?
