A long while ago, I purchased some Sony MDR-W10 earphones, and began using them a lot. During this time frame, I had them outside of my shirt, so that the cable would occasionally get yanked by my hand or the like when I moved about. I tried to avoid this, as, even though it had no short term effects, I knew that one day the cabling would probably break away from the two earbuds' casings. One day however, they were yanked pretty hard, and the cable coming from the earbuds became spiral-like and when the two cables joined together, bumps appeared in the cable. Now I'm a man who likes everything like new, so this really annoyed me, and now whenever I move my head whilst wearing them, faint sounds can be heard that sound like the cable hitting the plastic inside the earbuds.
My question is, can this be fixed? The earbuds are sealed shut with no way of opening them that wouldn't possibly damage them, but I'd at least like to know if the crinkles in the cable can be fixed.
Thanks
