Fix or upgrade

I'm now a bit confused.
I've just bought a new belt. I am going to test the cables once I get a multi meter. I will get a new cartridge when I work out what I actually need. My question is; does a cartridge come with a stylus??
I am open to suggestions.

If you can tell us what cartridge is fitted, you may only need a new stylus.

Think of a cartridge like a car wheel. The stylus is like the tyre, it’s the only bit that wears out. The cartridge body doesn’t wear out. The stylus assembly is easily removed and replaced. The cartridge is attached to 4 tiny wires and with two sets of nuts and bolts - typically.

If you’ve never fitted a cartridge it may not be that easy for you. I’m sure YouTube has plenty of videos, or back in the day they’d be fitted gratis by a dealer if you buy the cartridge there. Worth asking.

As I said in a previous reply, it is made by Ortofon so you can use Ortofon Stylus, just look on the Ortofon website to see which is best suited. (They don't recommend going above a 2M Red though)

Looks like Dual DN series. If Bill is correct then any Ortofon OM series stylus will fit. (Forget the 2M Red, that’s from a different range entirely)
