Hi all. As the title suggest I will be a first time home owner. and with the freedom I want to treat my self to decent surround sound system if the budget permits me. I have a budget of approx £400, and would like to connect my PS3.

I really have no idea where to start and I have just been looking at usual brands such as Sony, Samsung etc, mainly due to the fact that's all they sell where I live and thats all I know off. It's only recently that I have herd of other brands through research on the internet and magazines.

Any advice or even if you could point me in the right direction would be welcomed.

Daffy.

Daffy1 welcome to the forum. Are you after a 5.1 surround sound ( 2 fronts+centre+2 rears and sub) and what other components (TV etc) do you have?

Sorry I should of mentioned. Yes I would like to connect it to my T.V (Panasonic TX-l37S20B) and my PS3, I do have an Ipod but im not to fussed over that but I would also like to add either Sky or Virgin later on as I cant do it at the moment becuase my money is all over the place with being a first time buyer.

Im not to fussed if its a 5.1 or 2.1, Im more after value for money and anything on top is a bonus. At the monent as I have all ready mentioned it has to be value for money.

Sorry for sounding a dumb-founded

I recommend the Q Acoustics 1010i from richer and they also do a load of really good amps cheap like the Sony STRDH800 both for £430 and a bit more for all the cables if you can afford that much.

I've been looking at their website mainly at the home cinema 1 option for £300. Been looking around for reviews or other forums based on their package deals but cant find any.

Hi Daffy,

Suggest in the first instance you grab a copy of What HiFi which has some great articles regarding system building, best buys etc and with your budget in mind, check out RicherSounds as they put together some great value for money bundles.

Enjoy the demo's

Nick
