Swans. Never heard of them, even though they have been on the go since 1981, they have a lot of albums and get millions of plays on Spotify. This is why I love streaming sites, as it has never been easier to find hidden gems and bands (and artists) who are brilliant and you like pretty much everything they have done. Another example of that is Devin Townsend. I have now seen him live more than any other artists and still regularly listen to his many albums. Prior to stumbling across him on Spotify, I had never heard of him. I even remember posting a link to one of his songs on YouTube and another poster here replying, how have I never heard of him?

Angine de Poitrine for me.

Been obsessed since discovering them from their KEXP performance a month or two ago, so much so I'm seeing them at the 02 Academy Leeds in October.

Described as a math/experimental/prog rock band, they make heavy use of microtonal guitar, and live looping, which makes them sound much bigger than they are.

All the more impressive that they perform in full costume too

They describe themselves as" mantra-rock Dada Pythago-Cubist orchestra" composed of "space-time voyagers"

Which plays into their use of the costumes , that were originally adopted to disguise the fact they were playing back to back gigs in different bands.

The guitar player looks like Buckethead formerly of Guns N Roses:

Regardless of the fact I don't like Swans that much (despite listening to post punk, goth, alt rock) - I was actually saying the same to someone on a different forum two days ago (regarding Danzig). I am constantly finding bands which I somehow overlooked, and it's great discovering them as if they had just come out. Keeps life exciting!
