The fire cannot go, the wife agreed for me having this stuff under 2 condition, the fire stays and also the TV does not go above the fire.

Plus the fire is too high and we would have a sore neck looking up all the time.

Happy the way it is, cant see it getting much better from the sound.

And yes take the amp out of the surge protector, the sound is so much better when its in the mains.

prob going to get a Tacima for the TV, BD, PS3 and SKY.

ah ok then, i guess you better stick to you're part of the deal, or you may come in from work some day and find you're beloved kits been flogged

Are you sure your surge proctector is just not working right? I had one where one of the sockets was a bit dodgy.

Hey have had the surge protector for sometime so it could be the case, but I should imagine if something like the SC-LX72 which is over 1000w going into a surge protector cant be doing it any good.

Also all the electrics were done 2 years ago with new boards ect.

I found the amp has better sound now that its in the wall.

Thanks gel, I have a sony bdp-370 into the amp and also my PS3.

Thanks guys, still playing with everything, so many functions on that amp, and speakers still running in.

Going to watch saving private ryan tonight as the wife is going to town, Im sure the neighbours wont be too happy. LOL

According to WHF, they have never heard a better DTS-HD MSTR track, so it is bound to be a boombastic affair on your new system!

Fantastic layout you have there (very jealous ....especially of your sound system) but I can see why your wife wants to keep the fireplace , it looks great as well and the tv above the fireplace might detract from the impact of the fireplace. Well done !

Thanks sun_Shang_Xiang

I love the fireplace as well, it is a funny story as well, as seen it in leakes when we were buying this place and me and the wife fell in love straight away, but it was 1200.00 just for the surround.

So got the model name and bought on-line for 400.00, delivered once and it was broke in 10 pieces, then asked for another one, but thought the delivery guy would help the wife, but he said he cant as he does not have another man.

Didnt realise when I bought it, but it came on a palet and weighted over 100kg I think, so had to pay for a re-delivery.

I cant have everything. but I am eying up a Nice 50" maybe in the Boxing day sales. depends on price at the time, as just not getting on with my new LG 42LD450, Its just not that great on SD motion or SD anything for that fact. but HD its quite good, but I think the blacks can be a lot blacker and colours a lot more vibrant, but hey it was only 369.00 new

Canada your new BLOK stand look's amazing cracking big livingroom as well.

Thanks benny, I am very happy with the Blox, very heavy and good quality for the money.

Oh and it was 2 rooms, but when we bought it, knocked the centre wall down and dropped in a RSJ.

There is about another 3 meters behind the camera as well, great for the kids.

You would defo get an rxfx between the curtain in the corner and the back wall and the other one could go in the alcove above the rear left or on the back wall. Sure it said in the manual for the rxfx that they can be mounted on a side or a back wall just set the speaker accordingly!! My rear right speaker is in a similiar position next to your curtain. Sound bounces

Well got the RX1 up for sale

, so going to go down the R90HD or RXFX route.

They are just too big for the way everything is in the room.

I was thinking about putting the rxfx on the back wall about 2 feet up one in the corner by the curtains and the other on the end of the sofa.

It's an awkward one. The left rear isn't an issue as it can be placed at the far left at the edge before the wall seems to go into an alcove. But placing the right rear would be a real issue. ideally I'd say they'd have to be about 1m in from that side wall where your window is, otherwise you'll be getting HF reflection of that wall, which will become annoying. I've not gone into the LX72/82 menu to see if they have an EQ you can play with for each channel - if it does, then you could use it to take the treble down on the rears to minimise reflection. The drawback of this is that they may sound a little dull.

I do think that something like the Apex's would be a safer bet.

Forgot to mention there is a space beside that side of about 1-2 foot as my subwoofer is there, so should be ok.

I prob will be going for the RXFX as R90HD I dont think will compaire and the apex are out of my price range.

Wish I could get some nice B stock at half price.

You will not be disappointed Canada!! Another option is to go for the white set as they may be less obvious in your sitting room. Kind of wish i did just to blend in a little better. My wife actually chose the finish as i was going to get as close a match as possible to the oak flooring. Typically the gloss finishes are the most expensive!!
