Few Queries on June Issue & advice required?

I read the June Issue of WHF, I have few queries on active speakers section, I've been struggling to replace by aging B&W speakers but couldn't find a shop where I could test speakers with my Roksan LIII Amp. Although I listened to Dynaudio Focus 110 with K2 (both active and passive) and MAs as well. But couldn't make up my mind.

Finally on WHF forum I got the advice to partner ATC SMC11 but was not able to find any shop to get demo here in Benelux, so need some advice from the experts. Here are my queries.

1. Should I go the passive route and buy SMC11 and partner these with Roksan LIII Amp?

2. Or go with Dynaudio Focus 110 (passive) with Roksan, will they perform better then Dyn Active 110?

3. Or I should get rid off Roksan and go for AVI how will they compare to combo of LIII with SMC11?

4. How is the Bass response on AVI compared to Dyadic 110 (active and passive)? Is the bass deep & punchy then 110 without sub?

I listen to all sort of Genre specially Pop & Dance. Source is Sonos.

Thanks for your help, your advice will help me from running around from one end of country to other-end just to test SMC11.

The Roksan Kandy LIII is a very good amp and I dont think it'd bve worth selling and going down the active speaker route IMO unless you are looking at space saving!

I think Roksans own speakers would be well worth looking at: Ropksan Kandy K2 speakers -

I think the Dynaudio DM 2/7's and the Focus 110's would be a very good fit as well.

Have you an idea fo what your budget is and does it include money for stands or would you look at floorstanding speakers as well?

Cheaper than the above mentioned but still very good are the Monitor Audio RX2's (in gloss black they're stunning

) and the B&W CM5's could be worth looking at as well.

I did listened to MAs and didn't like the sound signature to my taste, however Dyn 110 (passive) were much better, but then based on June review 110A are better then (passive) and also wondering if AVIs are even better!

Also looking for comparison of SMC11 with LIII vs AVI as stated above? Thanks.

see drummerman , this thread was started before there were any eb2s around at all .. the op mentions possible speakers for his kandy , perhaps your becoming paranoid/ feeling persecuted
