The reviews are very good for this company, you can check them online, just put in the name and review.

Yes it's quite common in UK for these type of deals, maybe they have bought lots of those speakers, maybe they will be a new model out soon? Some companies specialise in these sort of deals, dealers do have a fair profit margin. There is also quite a bit of competition which I suspect is lacking in your country.

Awesome! Then im gonna check your site. So i it´s true - the competition is harder in UK. Do you ship to sweden?
Do you think Marantz PM6005/6006 and Zensor 5 is a good pairing?

There will be certain brands we won't be able to ship overseas. I generally don't get involved in mail order, so you'd need to call the guys in the office to check whether we can or can't ship to you. My guess, for both brands, is that we can't.

Are you just tormenting him like at the end of Bullseye "let's take a look at what you could have won"? Why don't you finish the job by telling him what sort of staff discount you get? *biggrin*

Cheaper but can't deliver!
If we can't deliver to your region, then no else from the UK can either. Some manufacturers make exceptions if they have no representation in a specific area, but when there are local retailers and distributors, things are restricted.

Is that legal, from a freedom of trade point of view in the EU?

I thought that anyone was allowed to buy anything from anywhere in the EU?

Sounds like price fixing to me, which is surely anti-competitive behaviour under the Competition Act?

I read on Swedish forums that there where some German hi-fi stores who for a while refused to deliver Canton speakers to private persons in Sweden, and that where orders from Canton.

Managed to find a english hifi store that delivers to Sweden!

Yamaha rn602 and zensor 5 are arriving in a weeks time. About 400 pounds cheaper then it would have cost me here in Sweden. Hopefully I will be just as pleased when I plug it in.

I'm sure any other Swedish forum members would love to hear where they can buy their hi-fi cheaper than their local dealers - if it was Gel he'd be sharing the news with everybody!

The only point I would like to make is that if you have a warranty, the 'distance selling regulations' here don't apply outside of the UK, so if you have any issues, you'll more than likely need to send the faulty item back to the UK at your own expense...

I actually found the dealer by googling in swedish. Not only can my fellow swedes buy it cheaper, they can but it a lot cheaper! Most package deals (no matter what dealer) are more then 25% cheaper then sweden, and then im including shipping cost!

But my recomendation would be to just send an email to all the h-fi stores and see if they ship what you are interested in. Some dealers could not send certain brands, some would not send anything at all overseas, and some would send everything.

The downside is, as you say, that if anything is wrong with the product you have to send it back and pay the shipping.

My understanding is that the Distance Selling Regulations in the UK are an EU Directive (2011/83/EU) and that they apply to all distance sales from the UK to all other EU countries.

Sweden is in the EU.
