Exactly how easy is it to connect Sky to a Panasonic TH-42PZ81 for use with both Freesat and Sky? Plus, what all in one surround amplifier and receiver would best suit the Pana? Is the Denon AVR-1909 a good choice?

Im interested in buying the Panasonic TH-42PZ81 due to it having 100Hz which is better for watching football plus having read many reviews i'm hoping the Panasonic is the way to go.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You need to run an extra coax from the dish to the TV. The dish has probably got a 4-way LNB and should have two spare slots. SKY box connects to the TV via SCART or HDMI depending what box you have.

Try the Home Cinema forums for amps.

Thanks for the reply rewerb.

Sky connects to my current TV via a scart but I will be connecting the Pana to Sky with HDMI.

Will another cable from the dish reduce the signal strength?

Im OK with connecting all the gear up but dont know if the way its connected will give the best picture/sound especially when I end up buying an amp and connecting it all up then. Then theres buying the right wires and connections for it all.

I think I will end up buying the Panasonic TH-42PZ81 and either Onkyo TX-SR606 or Denon AVR-1909 and hook it up to sky.

Ive read alot of ways to connect TV's, amps, sky and speakers up but until it comes to me sitting there and connecting it up myself, I wont know if im doing it correctly or have the foggiest what everyone is saying :-D
