I am about to change from a BS Node to the DMP A6 but have a question on newtork storage
.
I currently MANAGE my music collection with J.River Media Center and will continue to do so on my Windows PC which is attached to the home network. I make a copy of this collection including playlists and place it on a Synology NAS on the same network. The BS Node uses this as it source - including the playlists!

When/if I get the DMP A6 I want to use its on board SSD to replace the NAS as the source. So the question is this. Can I copy my collection without modification to the on board DMP A6 SSD? If so will it behave like any other file structure ie be readable and manipulable by Windows File Explorer.

Many thanks in anticipation

Yes if I understood your question correctly, it shouldn't be a problem, I believe DMP A6 recognises the main filing formats. NTFS, EX-FAT, FAT32 etc. If it's link to ethernet server, you should see the file on Windows.

I'm using my Matrix Mini l-4 Streamer DAC via local storage, digital transport Vovofox with built in SSD and NAS server (Terramaster 2 bay server). It's a little over cooked I think, don't really need both the local storage or NAS but I do get more reliablity from direct access. The NAS can disappear and reappear, sometimes a bit quirky.

J.River Media Center is excellent for my needs also, especially DSD format files.
Oh if you're buying the DMP A6, make sure it's the gen 2 model, which is out now.
