Epson EH-TW5500 for 2300 euros (2000 GBP)

I know this projector got a good review (4 stars) but not a great one. The price during the review was 4000 GBP
I can find this projector on offer for around half the price (2000 GBP)
I think at that price the Epson EH-TW5500 must be much better than the similar priced Panasonic PT-AE4000E although the latest got 5 start from What HiFi
The Epson EH-TW5500 got some great reviews from several mags too

What do you think?

I would seriously check the source if it's half price - there isn't that much margin on projectors!

UK RRP on the Epson with full 5 year warranty including the bulb and Saturday swap out service is £3999. If you are not getting the warranty it is not from a UK supplier so buyer beware.

The Epson is much better than the Panasonic. We have both ISF calibrated in store and the difference between the two is very marked as you would expect. As David says I would check around the retailer to be sure - if you can get it for £2k I would grab with both hands.

There are 21 online shops in Greece selling this for a price between 2377.99 - 2846.00 euros which is something between 2000-2500 GBP

A friend of mine already bought one from Piximania Greece for 2400 euros (2000-2100 GBP circa) and looks great!!

I don't know. Maybe Epson Greece make some offer in order to promote projectors (considering also the crisis in Greece)?

Looks like we should be importing from Greece! With that many sellers the Greek price is for whatever reason obviously much lower than the UK. You are going to get a bargain.

Even at that price it is still above my budget but I understand it is a bargain so I will try to find some extra cash.
What I wanted to be sure is that the Epson EH-TW5500 is the best projector I can buy for 2000-2200 GBP. Unfortunately I cannot have a demo but from what I see from my friend's Epson EH-TW5500 this is a great projector and my friend uses a 150 euros screen so there is still margin for even better performance!

I just noticed that after a year the wonderful Epson EH-TW5500 is selling for 2,155 GBP (half of its original price 4000 GBP)

I think this is a bargain.

This also shows that there was nothing fishy with the price in Greece (2000 GBP) last year. Probably Epson had decided to promote it and put it in offer one year earlier in Greece
