Well after putting my speakers in buckets of water and giving them a thorough soak test for 48 hours the sound does appear to be slightly more damped.

I don't think anyone can argue with the science of doing that, after all, there is nothing damper than water is there?

Of course there is!

As an inveterate tweaker I like to tweak certain parts of my system depending on the type of music I'm listening to. For example, gluing a chop stick to a classical vinyl album gives the impression the conductor is in the room as the disk spins on the platter which elevates the performance and with it, my enjoyment of my system.

My latest tweak when I want to revisit my teenage years as a punk...

And you're right to play the CD the other way up, as it, and all other CDs contain a free recording of John Cage's wonderful '4'33'. And that's a fact.

Your explanation is pure weapons grade balognium!

I've just tried my favourite Justin Bieber CD upside down and the track that played was the infamous Birdie Song played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with what sounds like Metallica's James Hetfield singing voclals.

Changing your electricity supplier can also make a difference.

I think you're on to something there, and from what I understand, any supplier beginning with A or B would be best, because the quality of the electricity is dished out in alphabetical order. Definitely stay away from SSE anyway.

I have solar panels ... wonder if that makes a difference? *acute*

I think an inspection of the local substation, the quality of components used in the step down transformers and voltage contraol circuits, as well aas the quality of the station to house mains interconnects should be the first thing you investigate when buy in a new house.

We have a lot of wind turbines where I live and obviously as the wind speed varies so does the speed of my turntable. I have to sit next to the deck with one hand on the speed switch and I flick it from 33 to 45 rpm and back depending on how hard the wind blows.

The wind didn't blow at all yesterday but that's ok as I've used a long rubber band to link my bike wheel to the turntable and now I can keep fit as I listen to music. Unfortunately for me I was half way to work when the grievously overly stretched elastic band twanged me on the arse.

1° put all your gear in phase - 2° use shielded cables - 3° use EMI and RFI filters ( AKIKO - ENACOM,...) - 4° if you want to see how your electricity is use a scoop and you gonna see a very dirty wave and so on*music2*

Personally I find my stereo sounds too bright when I use solar power and I much prefer the airy presentation from wind power.

Don't even bother with hydroelectricity unless you need serious damping.
