DTS Digital Output and DTS DEcoder

Hi guys,

Need ur help on this;

What is actually the different between those two? For certain DVD player in the specification, it was mentioned:

DTS Digital Output: YES...

DTS Decoder: NO

Which one is important for sound? Do we need both or not necessary since I can see most of Toshiba player got both but not for Sony player. Please clarify. Thanks

i think it means that the dvd player won't decode DTS you need a separate av amp to decode the DTS signal.... if i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me

Absolutely correct. It means there is no on board decoder, so that all decoding must be done by an AV amp.
