Onkyo's are good but i guess yamaha is more musical and easier on the ears...! I feel the onkyo a little bright and clinical...so do think about that.... that being said peeple do say that the 1008 seems a set down from the 1007.

i do realise that the 1800/1900/3800/3900/Z7 were perfect. and excellent quality.

i was referring to the 65 series.... it seems yamaha reduced the weight of the 65 series and people were unhappy about it...

has that problem been corrected over the 67 series ?

i downloaded and looked at the manuals and the 2067 GUI/Menu etc looks light years ahead from the 1900.

i'm gettin a good deal on the 1900 so was wondering if i should get that or go with the 2067 or the 3900.

m gettin after conversion in my country....

1. 1900 for £ 920

2. 2067 for £ 1040

3. 3900 for £ 950 ( 6 month pre-owned )

and i'm confused as hell as to which one to get....... !

I'm not the sort of person who would continuously tweak the settings of my Yamaha receiver; I've probably done it 2 or 3 times in the past 2 years. So having a different GUI doesn't bother me at all.

No point in saying this; but I think you're looking too much into these receivers. You could've enjoyed superior sound from your home cinema system in the past so many months if you had just decided on one & bought it, instead of contemplating on which one to get.

Personally, I would go for the 2067.

BB, that's probably one of the most diplomatic answers I've read on these forums....The OP is going to have to suffer further indecision when Yamaha announce their 2011 amp range shortly.

alrite guys i've made up my mind... 1900 is out of the running... now only 2 choices...

1. 2067 @ £ 1040

2. 3900 @ £ 940 ( 6 month pre-owned )

- would u say 3900 sounds better than 1900 & 2067 since it was replaced by the 3067 and is of a higher pedigree than the 1900 & 2067 ?

- is yes then i'll pass up the hdmi 1.4/3d amongst other things for better sound quality...

This is it....

If you're able to take a decision before the pre-owned 3900 is sold to someone else, then I would go for the 3900. But if you want to "future proof" your receiver, then the 2067 makes better sense.

If you don't take a decision soon, then you'll be confused between the 2067 and Yamaha's next generation receivers (not yet announced, just in case you were interested to know).

i had a query.. i see a lot of people in UK forums like what hifi and avforums comparing the SR 7005 to the Yamaha RX V 3067.

isn't the RS 7005 more in the league of the RX 2067....?

i ask this as in my country you can get the SR 7005 for a shade less than the RX V 2067 and the RX V 3067 is about 30 % more in price...

though in price it might be closer to the 3067 in UK but by virtue of performance is the SR 7005 considered closer to the 3067 or the 2067 in the UK.... ?

guys i had a question to Marantz 7005 owners and others who have heard/demoed this avr. i went to demo the SR 7005 today and heard it with B&W Cm series speakers. These were my findings...

1. The sound was nice and soft but felt very dull.

2. The movies and music had a warm kind of easy on the ears kind of sound but i felt it lacked detail and was just too polite.

3. That "Zing" was missing from the sound which makes movies exciting. Is that truly the kind of sound the SR 7005 has or could it be the speakers ? Thanks

4. I also read that the Sr 7005 is essentially identical to the denon 3311 which what hi-fi reviewers have said that is just too polite. Could it be that the Marantz 7005 and Denon 3311 sound alike ?

thanks
