Does Bi amping Passive Speakers....

Turn them into Active speakers? Obviously you have got more mess with cables but as I have a slot for another Cyrus box I thought go down the Biamp route rather than the Psx R Box with my current speakers, as I am sure I can use a Power Amp with my 8XPd.

No.

With active speakers, the crossover is situated before the power amplification (and is powered, not passive, unlike normal speakers). Once the signal is split into 2 or 3 sections (treble/mid/bass), it is then sent to power amplifiers which feed directly to the speaker's drive units.

What you've described is purely a bi-amped system.
