Does anyone here have Klipsch the Fives, Sevens or Nines? You like them?

Does anyone here use the fives sevens or nines by klipsch? How do you like them? I know they have a built in DAC but do you use another DAC in front of their own?

How do you have them setup? I have mine connected to my desktop pc. Sound great. Just wanted to know if anyone has reviews of them on here.

I have the 5's, Klipsch R-50M in my dining room setup. I use Velodyne SPL Series 2 subwoofer.
Nice clean detailed sound. Pair these together and you get a nice kick in the low regions 🙂

Not as rich sounding as my Dali 3's or anywhere near the realism of my active Adam A7V studio monitors but we're not comparing apples with apples, these two speakers particularly the Adams cost many times as much.

Still, in it's own price category, the Klipsch are excellent. Mine I use a separate DAC and amplification, FiiO K11 R2R with FiiO LPS PL50 power supply and SMSL A300 class D amp

My music is networked to my digital transport, the source is mostly DSD and Flac at high resolution. The Klipsch also does an excellent job, delivery low-fi stuff from the TV.
Great versatile speakers, very please with them.

How can you use a separate amplifer with the 5's?

I believe there are two version of the 5s, there's a choice of passive or active with built in DAC. Mine are passive.

The Sevens are universally acclaimed. They have HDMI and optical, so get a WiiM Pro and you'll have a complete system. I think they're one of the best kept secrets in hifi.

No, the OP meant these, which are a step up. There are the Fives, Sevens (very praised), and the largest Nines. They are different altogether. Here are the Sevens (they all look similar, being either smaller or larger).

@RoA, the penny dropped! Apologies for the confusion.
OP mentioned 5s, I thought he was referring to 50's. I learn something everyday. Nice looking speakers BTW, love those silver control dials on the top 🙂

I would but you can't bypass the DAC on the sevens at all. I do not want to put a DAC in front of a DAC. I thought about getting one, but the sevens have their own DAC that you can't bypass. The rca jacks on the sevens do not bypass the DAC.

I do think though that using optical on the wiim pro bypasses the wiims dac so I'd just be streaming an untouched signal which would be good, no?

For a streamer at the WiiM's price I would connect via optical anyway. The Sevens are kind of a do-it-all speaker, but I would not dismiss its DAC, it serves its purpose very well and the speaker does sound very good overall.

I had the Fives on home demo. Returned them - they aren't very linear in their tonality when you change volume. At the lower end of the volume dial, there just wasn't enough relative bass. But when I got over a certain volume, bass was present, but the top end way too much.

I installed the Klipsch The Nines today along with a Wiim Ultra. The Eximus One I got from Amazon is not stable enough, so I've ordered a pair of Monoliths from Monoprice... we'll see if they're better.

Anyway, the sound is fun. They make a good addition to my TV as a "centrerbar replacement", and they play my streaming music well. They also look quite good.
