Looking at possibly getting BT TV via the Internet or Sky Stream and would like to know people’s thoughts on BT TV via the Internet please?

After some searching via Google I have found the following responses:

Would anyone like to add to these views? Thanks

Unless there is a specific channel you want, just a get a streaming stick/Box and choose whatever you want, there are also no long term contracts as you can drop in and out of the various steaming services monthly.

Hi Bill, thanks for the response, I suppose Sky Sports channels is the big one and we want to have on at least 4 TVs? Thanks

Just looking at now TV we could’ve have on 4 devices and pay an extra £6 per month for Boost, is that right?

What are the various streaming boxes/sticks you would recommend? My dad is saying we want all channels, so the full works package on BT via the Internet. Or full works on Sky Stream. My dad is saying he wants something like a 18th month contract. He also wants BT Broadband not Sky Broadband. Thanks

We have also been trying to get in contact with City Fibre but have had no success, any ideas? We have left messages but no one comes back to us.

Imagine if you were trying to get a problem solved! Best avoided if the service is that bad.
That’s what we just found out too, there was a company called City Fibre shop charging £90+ for a call out to repair connection and extra call out charges if you have anymore queries! So that is best avoided. We have now worked out to that we will have an Ethernet cable to go from the router in the study to the Sky or BT box, so we don’t have to have City Fibre anymore too.

So I think we are now down to either Sky Stream with master plus 3 devices for other rooms and all channels or BT TV and master and 3 devices and all channels, I suppose it will come down to cost now. We will phone the two companies tomorrow.

CityFibre are like Openreach in that they're a wholesale network not a retail ISP. They don't deal with the public they leave that to their resellers

And as an "altnet" thats still busy building out their network, they don't have anything like the coverage of Openreach....

I watch Now TV, the internet spin-off that Sky launched a few years back now. Originally they gave us a box, a rebadged Roku I think. For at least five or six years we’ve used either a recent LG TV with the Now app, or the Now app bundled with an Amazon Firestick. Both work well, though the Firestick is much slower at loading.

The picture is excellent, the ‘reception’ of Wi-Fi with a ISP’s router on a FTTP service - and on the LG TV, a 2022 C series, it offers UHD on some Sky Sports, such as the F1 which is my main interest. The big snag versus a Sky dish is you can’t flick between channels. And now I’ve a got Entertainment, Sports and Boost bundles added on its over forty quid a month! But you don’t need an ugly dish and all the black cables run around the walls.
