Do you leave smooth motion technology on?

The reason I ask is because I just got a new Samsung UE46D6530, and I think the images it produces are great, especially with the smooth motion technology. However, the technology sometimes hinders the viewing experience. For example, I was watching 'Flying Wild Alaska' on Discovery HD last night, and the smooth motion technology really bugged me. It would smooth the video out, then it would judder, then smooth it, then judder, leading me to disable smooth motion. However, with Avatar on Blu-Ray, smooth motion helped significantly.

Is there any way to fix this issue with smooth motion? Do you guys just turn it off? Or is the problem just with Samsung TVs?

Thanks

Just about every major brand HDTV now has 'frame interploation' as an extra

Each and every one of them has its quirks (Screen tear, banding, artifacting or whatever). Personally I prefer to have them off, unless the source material is so bad it needs extra processing

Bottom line seems to be new technology TVs are not as nice to live with as CRT TVs. I wish I had stuck with my Toshiba CRT 36zp18, it was an outstanding TV. I have a Samsung LE46C750 now and this motion control problem is driving me to distraction. Its one of the most annoying things I have ever encountered. Seriously, I cant tell you how much I hate the motion on LCD/LED tvs. I havent tried plasma yet.

Problem I now have is watching the Toshiba (I gave it to my mom) I can clearly see how poor the contrast, black, colour and sharpness etc are, I was blissfull in my ignorance before watching a HDTV, I WISH I had never seen the dark side because its impossible to go back now. :(

hi it is a ps50c7000 model

I dont have one but a bit of googling says:

A CUSTOM setting of 8 for BLUR REDUCTION and 0 for JUDDER

Set SIZE to SCREEN FIT for blurays or any source that outputs 1080 for pixel to pixel mapping
