DIY small speakers

Hello everyone,
I am keen to build s pair of small speakers around a pair of DAYTON AUDIO RS100-4 Reference Speaker Drivers for my computer. I have found these containers,


with a 2 litre capacity. They are made of steel and have wooden lids, where I can support the drivers. I was wondering if steel is a material that is acceptable for this purpose. Does anyone have any experience on this?

Perhaps you have had some of the best advice from the forum.
Perhaps , after you build them, you could get back to us on your opinion as to the sound quality rather than posting useless links.

Hello Everyone, Me Again will another idea? Has anyone one the forum experimented with welding up a speaker box out of say 6mm think steel and welding in cross braces to prevent wall flex. I am sure you could get a very stiff box with this idea? One thing i hate about my normal boxes is the boxy...

After that I decided not to build these speakers, as I understood the difficulty in building a robust metal enclosure, free of unwanted sonic consequences.
