digital signal problems

i have sky+ hd and want to use a digital tv aerial to recieve freeview chanels also. but the problem i'm having is that when connected to either tv in my house i can recieve channels, but when the aerial is run through the hd box i get a no signal message on the tv. does this mean that i can't run my aerials the same way as they are now. thanks in advance.

Assuming we're talking an HD Freeview - ie terrestrial TV - aerial, why run it through the Sky HD box? Just connect direct to the TVs.
