Digital optical or Coaxial cable pls...?

Pls let me know, which one is the best to connect between your DVD player and amplifier for good surround sound?

1. Optical cable

2. Coaxial cable

coaxial is better than optical.

In which case I suspect electrical (coaxial) may sound marginally better.
