Hey

I might be taking the plunge and upgrading my pioneer VSX819 and very hesitant on spending 600.00 on a amp.

I was looking at the Pioneer VSX-LX52, which was about 1200rrp, what differences will I see from my basic pioneer?

Is there anything as good for value as this half price amp? I have MA RX1 at the front but soon to be RX6.

Thanks guys

thats i nice price if he does want to be 3d proof but i would go for something like that and then get a bargin 3d amp in 3 years when we will know more. I payed £425 for my denon1909 2 years ago and im well pleased with the interface and most of all SQ. I bet that with extra power the 2310 has over your pioneer at low volumes you should get more detail from your MA's

No not really just need something to match my MA speakers and best deal possible.

What makes the denon better?

Thanks

I thought at half off, the pioneer would be best

Would you trust it, could sell my Pioneer VSX819 and make a bit back and notice its tuned at air studios.

How old is this amp? Is it like the LX72 right now?

Just worried about buying something like this off ebay.

Not sure how old, it does have Ipod connection so cant be that old. Pums out 7 x 160w (6 ohms)so should drive those speakers really well. Guy says it's in mint condition and he does seem to have pretty extensive feedback.

Well he refused to take 15.00 off.

Looking at other amps, seen some onkyo ones I think the sr868 or something and it has something like 200w per channel, it was 1200 now 499.00

Will keep looking around not going to rush

Any thoughts let me know

This upgrade bug is a killer! Once you do one component you just can't stop......I'm done my front 3 speakers and added a BD player so far. Cables and rears next.

Them cc cards are a nasty peice of work my friend , if you insist on using them for an upgrade choose wisley so you can pay them off before the next upgrade bug gets ya. Good luck m8 as i do fancy a pioneer for my ma-rx speakers to get a good surround stage for movies, am very interested in your out-come

Cant beat 16months intrest free and I have been approved already.. LOL I feel special,

the VSX-52 is still top contender. 1200 what hifi 4 star down to 599, so baring that in mind I am sure they would have given it 5 stars if it was that price at launch

i would try and hang fire for 9-12 weeks people panic around xmas and sell all sorts at crazy prices and that will give you time to pick 3 amps that will go well with your ma's and you will know what is a good price etc etc. Dont rule out yamaha i have seen loads of happy people

Well spoke to a dealer whom I wont mention and he advised to hear a NIGHT AND DAY difference you would need to go to the

LX72 which is 900.00 something which is way way out of budget, prob stick to my VSX819 for now and see how it goes

I'd agree with that. I've been toying with an SC-LX72 or 82. Might have to go for the latter, as my living room is 6.2x6.3x2.25m, i.e. 3000 cubic feet, which is THX-Ultra territory. But while looking, I noticed an LX72 on eBay last night, currently at £450ish - can't post link as can't access eBay from work...

I was tempted to buy it, but I'm not sure my finances can stretch to any more purchases this year

From what I gather its the ICE digital amplification that makes this av amp have the wow factor.

Is there any brand out there that has something like this, but not at the cost of the LX-72?
