Denon BluRay transport - how does it work?

Hi

Does the Denon BluRay transport simply output the raw data from the disc via HDMI?

Or does the Denon do any sort of processing?

If I were to draw a rather crude comparison to the CD transport / DAC concept...
Would the amp and TV simply be the DACs for the BluRay transport and therefore the main factor in sound and picture quality, respectively?

Spot on. I suppose the Denon gets the 1s and 0s to the amp and screen as perfectly as possible.
