Well, I should have waited shouldn't I?
I bought the Denon AVR1909 about 4 months ago and whilst I'm pleased with it - it doesn't really blow my socks off. I've just read the review in the new issue.
I'm wondering how i could go about trading my AVR1909 for the new AVR1910? Can you do "trade-ins" at dealers and what would i have to fork out in cash do you think?
Or will i have to try and sell one (Ebay) and then go about buying the other?

Anyone got any experience in these matters?

Cheers

I'd make sure you have a long hard audition before you do anything. The 1910 is ceratinly very good indeed, but if I were in your shoes I'd want to make very sure the improvements were sufficient to warrant the hit you're going to take selling the 1909.

Otherwise you may find yourself in an endless spiral of upgrading...

Andrew,

Have you heard the Denon AVR 2310 yet? I have seen it for £699, and wondered if the difference between the 1910 and 2310 was worth the price difference?

Either a worth while upgrade from an Onkyo 606?

CheersIf you had of waited for the 1910, sooner or later a better amp will come along and it goes on etc..
If the amp doesn't blow your socks off and you want to go for a better amp then why not go up to the next level, instead of getting a little gratification by having the newer model, you could wait, save up and get something your truly happy with.

I'm very tempted by the Denon but with a budget of up to £700 I'm wondering if I can buy better now or shortly???

setup the Denon today, and my god it is sooooo sexy. Love it, for the money its a bargain of technology. And I have Kef 2005.2 speakers, lord knows how even more sexy this would sound with better speakers

Del and Big Aura - i think you're right. I'm not so dissatisfied with it - the sound is great, just not fantastic. So, i'll wait and make a bigger leap in the future. In the mean time it might allow me to upgrade my telly or even buy a projector!

When will it end!!!!

I have to Agree with Del and Big Aura aswell , The Denon 1909 does everything i could ask for at the moment in time , I can't see the 1910 making much difference , I am going to wait another year and see what new product is on the market then before i make the move to upgrade, if you keep upgrading every 6months your just losing money and in this day and age thats just not pratical.

Yeah Jason, we're in agreement.

If we fell into the trap of feeling dissatisfied every time an upgrade comes out we'd be skint and never be happy!

The 1909 is good! Let's not forget that eh?
