Good Morning All,

Looking for some input/any personal experience that might swing my decision one way or the other here, I really am stuck between a pillar and a post with this one.

Current setup is 7.1.4, and would like to expand to 7.1.6, so looking at new AV Receiver options. (really would like the marantz cinema 30, but 4k is just too much cheddar)

Current configuration: (room is around 4m x 6.4m x 2.4m high)
Denon AVRX3600
Tibo 2 channel Power Amp
Panasonic dp-ub9000eb1
Kef Q650c, Pair Kef Q550, 2 x pairs Kef Q350 2 x Pairs Kef Ci160.2cr Ceiling Speakers
SVS Pro-1000PB

I can get the old Flagship avc-x8500ha for half its original retail price (£2000) , allowing me to do away with the additional power amp and add an additional 2 channels (and put the ps5 back where it belongs) Or looking at the avr-x6800h £2700) which would still require the additional 2 channel amp when I decide to add in the additional ceiling pair.

I know the 6800 will be superb, its a 5 star winner, however from reading the review on the x8500 I feel given the price its available for its got to be in the running here. Surely if it was reviewed at half its original retail price it would be 5 star all day? And with the 8k revision it's future proof as well.

No Dirac option, on on the 8500 but not sure I would ever use it, I seem to get good results with Audyssey.

Can anyone help.

If I was buying a new amp I would buy the 8500 for sure.

Thanks Both

Was kinda leaning towards the 8500

Anyone got one, whats the consensus for Atmos setups?

Only issue is the size, its a monster and will need to cut the back out of my new custom unit to make it fit
