After only having my Denon 4308 AVR for about 3 months after it took a whole year to get repaired. They have announced a newer reciever that will be available next month.

Not a problem as thats just how technology works - but is the 4308 now becoming outdated (as its an old model), and are the differences between then Denon and the current class leader, the Sony STR-DA5400ES, night and day - or is there a lot of life left in this unit.

I remember one of the WhatHifi Staff owning the Denon 4308, id be interested to know his opinion as well. Thanks guys

Now all the lovely people are back from the Munich Show - which reading stuff on the News about looks very good.

Can someone help me with my despair... :)

Any help is welcomed

How do you think that a 1 year old amp is suddenly outdated? Have you checked the specs on the Denon site, it should be easy enough to compare them and see what has been added. Also sometimes new models aren't always better, they often cram more features in at the expense of better quality audio components. I'm not saying that is the case with the Denons but I think you're worrying about nothing. Just enjoy your amp now that you have it
