I have always had an out of the box cinema system but I am now wanting to move to separates as this seems the way to go and after reading loads of reviews on what-hifi and confusing myself further with whats out there I have decided to purchase the following: -

Amp

DENON AVR-1910

Speakers

KEF KHT2005.3

I will be connecting a Samsung Blu-Ray player to it and a sky+ box (Not HD yet!).

However, before I do make the purchase can anyone let me know if this is a good set up and what else I should/need to consider before buying.

Cheers and thanks in advance!

Yep the Denon and the KEFS work wonders (see sig) fair enough I have the 3005's but I heard the 2005's and they were cracking. Enjoy. If you get the stands remember only certain speaker cable will fit through them I can personally recommend QED Silver Ann :)

I think that system will work well together, i would also consider the Onkyo 607 amp, what is your budget. If your considering sats then i would also look at MA Vectors, Tannoy Arena-lites, if going down the traditional bookshelf speakers then the Q Acoustic 1010i at £350 is a steal, better for music with 1050i floorstanders as upgrades to the fronts. Don't forget some decent budget speaker cable, making sure you have enough to the correct lenghts and a sub cable.

I use the QED Silver Ann with my 2005.2 set up. I can certainly recommend it. It threads nicely up the stands. Even 'the wife' noticed an improvement over the Cable Talk 3 we had previously.
