I was about to post same question myself.

I am aboutto buy a Denon 2310 but found a closed out previous year model o2809 for the same price.

Looking at the specs I would say the 2809 is a better amp. But I would like to hear from the rest of you.

I am connecting it with my Bluray player, media play (both my hdmi and wii via component cable. My TV is a 47" HDTV

Any views

Thanks

I was in a similar position a month or two ago. I ended up getting a new 2310 from Richer Sounds for £609 through a pricematch deal.

I specifically wanted the integrated GUI over HDMI and the video processing so it was pretty clear cut for me. I've got a Denon dvd that has AL24+ processing and I'm in a relatively small terrace house, so the extra wattage wasn't that important to me.

All in all, couldn't be happier with it :-D They're both great receivers, so if audio is your main focus, maybe get the 2809. If you're interested in video processing, get the 2310.

Best of luck with it.
