Denon 2311, Rega Fono Mini A2D - Rega RP1 set-up

My knowledge of Turntables is very basic but I have a Denon 2311 reciever.

If I buy Rega Fono Mini A2D alongside the Rega RP1 would this set up work?

Would I even need the Rega Fono Mini A2D?

I'm confused with all of the terms too, Phono stage/ Phono amp/ phono pre-amp? could someone shed some light on these.

You will need a seperate phono stage (like the Rega Fono Mini A2D or similar) with a Denon 2311...

(No phono input that I can see.)

I have used the original Fono Mini (with a Rega P2/Ortofon 2M Blue feeding a Naim Nait 5i) and can vouch that it was excellent.

Don't worry about it. All these terms are interchangeable and I have used all three (at some time or other) to mean the same thing.

You would need to plug the Fono Mini A2D into one of the unused RCA stereo analogue 'audio' inputs on your receiver. (Say 'DVD' or 'Dock' for instance.)
