Evening,I have a Pioneer 4280xd plasma tv connected to Acoustic Energy Aero 3bs (7.1) speakers via a Denon 1906 amp. Yesterday my Sony bdp-s500 blue-ray player broke and I need some advice.Should I buy a new Pioneer LX52 blue-ray player and upgrade my amp to the Denon 1910/2310 or 3310 amp? Would the 3310 amp be overkill for my speakers?Any thoughts welcome - have been contemplating the Denon 2010/Sony s760 blue-ray players as well. Cheers.

Is this what you have?

In my view, the Denon AVR-1910 would be an appropriate amp for this system and should provide you with all the thrills you seek, without having to really spend any more money.

Either the Pioneer BDP-LX52 or the Sony BDP-S760 would be fine as a blu-ray player. The Sony has added functionality with WiFi etc.

Another new entrant to the scene is the LG-BD390. This machine was recently awarded 5 stars by WHF and is considerably cheaper than the Pioneer and Sony, so you may want to also have a look at this.

I finally decided to get the Pioneer player. I'm now planning to upgrade my amp as I'm looking for LAN connectivity. Would people recommend:

Pioneer VSX-LC72

Pioneer VSX-LC73 (is it worth the extra over the 72)?

Pioneer VSX-LC82

Denon 4310

Denon 3310?

I can get some good prices on last year's models - but wanted to know if the 2011 ranges are worth the extra?

Cheers,

Ross
