Hi Guys, Just wondering if there was a decent dvd player out there that fits the following criteria. 1. Is white (for bedroom and everything in there is white Sky+,Wii,Tv). 2. Multi Region 3. HDMI connection 4. Upscaler (1080i) 5. Very Affordable. (max £100) Not seen one anywhere myself so thought i'd draw on the wealth of knowledge on here. Thanks very much in advance.

Samsung does a lovely cut-size curved one called the DVD-F1080, featuring 1080p upscaling, available in black or white (to match its 'Bordeaux' sub-26in TVs).

It's available for £70 or less. We haven't tested it yet, so can't vouch for quality, but it sure looks good...

The white model might not be out yet - Samsung originally said May for both versions, but the black one's already on sale. Could be worth dropping a line to Samsung via its website? If you get no luck, email me via the address in the mag or the Contact Us page here and i'll follow it up with them next week.

Well Samsung got back to me. they say they don't know anything about it being available in white.
So there goes that one. Any other dvd players in white knocking about then?

Sorry for getting your hopes up!

I'll get my thinking cap on and see if there's anything else around.

Thanks again. I found one but it doesn't look too appealing to be honest, plus i've never heard of them. Its a Xoro HSD 8420. I think i'll keep searching.

The Xoro seems ok on paper. I have had a good look around and can't find anything other than portables in white. Personally I would be more tempted to spend my money on something that is tried and tested, regardless of what colour it came in, and then find a stylish/innovative way of storing/hiding it when not in use, in white of course. http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/product.asp?id=6866 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Optimum-Impression-i1460-Television-Cabinet/dp/B0012Q17TE These are all a bit pricey, but I am sure that cheaper alternatives can be found, and there are a lot more gloss white tv cabinets than there are white dvd players.

Thanks for your Help Tom83cat. Unfortunately as the equipment we have is placed on top of a chest of drawers,(6414762 Argos) and room restrictions we couldn't use a cabinet. But i am toying with the idea of empying the top drawer and doing it that way. But i'll wait and see if samsung do a u-turn first (cross's fingers in hope). Thanks for all your help guys.

I have had a look at the chest of drawers, and here is my idea..... Go to B&Q... get a couple of hinges and either a magnetic latch or one of those push to release catches. Pick a drawer that you want to use (i think the top drawer would be best option anyway so that the catches can be attached to the chest rather then the drawer above). Adapt the front of the drawer so that it will drop down using the hinges and the catch. Take a hole drill and drill a hole in the back of the drawer and a corresponding hole in the back of the chest for all your cables. This picture shows the sort of thing I mean, with a hinge on the bottom and a drop-stay on the side: http://www.accesscomponents.co.uk/images/photos/N010pz.gif Hope it's not too comlplicated.

You think they'd be aware that it IS available in white as i saw loads of them today in Costco in Gateshead, and also in black for around £53. I am tempted to *** back and get one, if you need any more info give me a yell
