Actually, both! You managed to create that suspense for the past few days......I really wanted to know what's the outcome of your experience.

Unless I understand how a thing works, I'm usually reluctant to put my money on them. The more mysterious the science behind such products is, the more expensive the products are.

Well, RA certainly makes a huge margin on all of it's products - that at least, is an absolute certainty!

Sorry its been a disapointment for you, i guess this has just made you realise how good your existing cables are. I went from the standard cables that came with my kit to the classics which gave me massive benefits, mind you going from a standard classic to a DCT treated one i noticed further improvements.

I could try to tell you to hang on to it for a while and let them get accustomed to your bluray player etc even though you can opt for them to burn them in for you its still recommended to keep them in YOUR system for a week or two, you do have a 60day trial period so why not use some of that time TX? Youll be surprised at what a little burn in with your own system can reap.

Then again its up to you mate, if youve already made up your mind with a hour or so demo then i certainly wont be able to change your mind (wink)

Hello mate,

I paid extra for the 'Cable Burn-In' process - it has had the equivalent of 500 hours (or more) of burn in time already! I specifically requested for the additional service so there would not be this discussion about the cable having to settle in and burn-in and all that.

So, yes, it's definitely going back.

Gander:They filed the edges off my one so that it would fit snugly into the panny. Let us know your thoughts when they arrive mate!

The cable arrived this morning at 7:30am! I did not need my alarm clock in this instance. I will carry out a test this evening when I get back from work and post the results.

Looks and feels such a lightweight compared to my current cables - about 1/3 the size, and fits easily into my TV as well, with space to spare!

WOW ! That was an early delivery. Looking forward to your results.

Not really, mate. I ordered this cable on the 30/01/2010.

Oh yes thats right, i hope its been worth the wait for you?

I'm afraid NOT, my friend

I expected the RA cable to blow my present cables away in terms of superior visual and sonic improvements, but it did not, infact it's identical to them. Tested the cable with the blu-ray player, amp and TV - with both SD and HD material.

It has been a dissapointment for me although it may well provide that much needed upgrade to someone who is at present just using a standard 'kettle' lead. Well, at least I know that my present cables are excellent for the money and work brilliantly.

My existing cables replaced the RA PowerMax Plus. They appear to have this beaten too, so back to Russ Andrews it goes.

My personal experiences (especially with tvs) are to leave it on for 2 weeks then decide. Id be suprised if there was no change then (Thats the equipment aclimatising to the new cable, not 'burn in' of the cable which you clearly already have)

Some may hate me for resurrecting this thread but just thought i would let you know that the cable on my TV has improved over the time i have had it and I'm pretty damn impressed with the impact its had on the picture quality. Not swapped the DCT with the powerchord on my amp and CD player yet, but the DCT cord has been sat on my amp since i got it a few weeks back and the amp has remained on all of that time, so i will swap it over his weekend and see if its settled down a bit.

Ressurect away Gander, this is the best thread yet on power cords. I got my Tacima plug in conditioner, thye don't make them anymore and I apparently got the last one. It has added another layer of detail to the music by removing noise the laptop was putting into the mains.

I eventually received my leads last week, 2 x classic with DCT and wattgate and a Powerkord 8 with DCT, after ordering them in mid January. To be fair though RA kept me updated and were very apologetic about the delay.

The Powerkord 8 is fitted to my Sky HD box with the other 2 to my Kuro and amp. Prior to this I had ClearerAudio Copperline Alphas connected. I havent noticed any real difference yet, but I've been on nighthshift since I fitted them and havent had a chance to assess them properly yet. When I fitted the Alphas the difference was immediate, so I beginning to think the difference i'll see now will be marginal. I'm going to keep them whatever as it hasnt degraded the picture and I've been able to use the Alphas on the rest of my kit.

Hopefully once I finish my shifts next week, i'll see more of an improvement, as they wil have had 2 weeks use.

I did ask the OH if she had noticed any difference over the past week but was met with a blank stare!!!

I've had my system on permanently for last month after getting my RA 8 way mains power block silencer, and new dct kords for pre/power , cd , and 8 way for blu ray. After some weird changes in sound at first, ( bass lost it's edge, treble much too toppy) Everything has settled down and it's much better. Massive improvement. Had a demo for possible new system last month, was blown away by the gear on test, but now i'm questioning do i need a total change, My gear sounds like its had new speakers!! Which is now my main upgrade path, Which i can now do knowing my system is working at its full potential.

The effects youve had with bass and treble have been the exact same for me when ive tested new mains chords
