I currently have Diamond 9.0 as front speakers in a 5.1 set up that are also used for stereo listening with NAD 325 BEE (via pre-outs from Yamaha 763) and a NAD 515 CDP and Project Xpression II TT.

I want to improve the stereo speakers but they will be positioned close to a wall (just 10cm or so), probably ruling out the new Diamond 10.1, making the obvious choice the Diamond 9.1 (especially as now available for £99).

Would the more expensive front ported Lektor 2 be an improvement over the Diamond 9.1? Also, is it likely to integrate well within the 5.1 set up (Diamond 9.0 rears and diamond 9 front)?

I know that it's not recommended to mix different manufacturers in the front 3, but stereo is my main music listening and movies or 5.1 music is more occasional.

HiI am new to hifi.

I auditioned 9.1 Vs 10.1 in detail.

I found that with my eyes closed and not knowing which one was playing, I consistently said that 9.1 had better vocals handsdown.

However, 10.1 sounded bigger than 9.1.

Initially I ordered for 9.1 (Delhi, India) but could not wait as they were out of stock and went for 10.1. Ya they do have "boomy" bass.

But they are gorgeous looking!!

Thanks

its a shame about the boomy bass.I think the boomy bass made me dislike the 9.1 and if the 10.1 are the same on the bass department, they woun't suit me
