Hello!

I am in the market for the new DAC to feed my integrated hybrid tube/transistor amp. The amp has a warm sound signature therefore I am looking for a converter which would slightly offset this characteristic. I use
PURE MUSIC 2 and play 16 bit AIFF 44.1 kHZ CD rips (for the time being this is what my music library consists of). Currently I own the CA DAC MAGIC and tested the NAD 51 which sounded to warm for my liking. Better than CA but not suffciently to pay the price. The budget is below 1 300 GBP.

Looking forward to your advice

Michal

Hi Michal,

If you are not far from London you are welcome to come by to audition Malbru TUBE DACs that where auditioned againet 1.5K famous brands and Malbru sounded far more natural with great attaches and details. I use Malbru TDA1541 Tube DAC for my 16 Bit files and absolutely happy with the format and of course the sound I hear :) Or visit your local Hi-Fi dealers to audition Tube DACs design if there are any available that you can chose what you personally like. Another recommendation is to use a good quality mains cables at least for your music source and a DAC.
